MICHAEL Wilde last night revealed his frustrations that the current Saints board have been unable to deliver the changes he believes are necessary to restore the good times to St Mary's.

The Jersey-based businessman last night ended weeks of failed negotiations with chairman Rupert Lowe to call an EGM.

Wilde is proposing that Lowe, who is both chairman and joint managing director of Southampton Leisure Holdings, is removed from the board along with joint managing director Andrew Cowen and board members Guy Askham, Mike Richards and David Windsor-Clive.

In their place, Wilde would appoint both himself and lifelong Saints fan Patrick Trant, a well known local businessman, as board members.

Ex-Policeman Ken Dulieu would become non-executive chairman Lowe is currently an executive chairman with ex-Celtic and Fulham chief executive Jim Hone occupying a similar role at St Mary's.

It is usual for PLC football clubs to have a non-executive chairman and a chief executive, with the latter the main person in terms of the day-to-day running of the football club.

American Lee Hoos, who worked with Hone at Fuham, would be appointed Saints' operations director in other words, he would probably be expected to take on many of Cowen's responsibilities.
