SOUTHAMPTON's finest, Delays, have been added to the bill for this year's Isle of Wight Festival.

Greg and Aaron Gilbert, Colin Fox and Rowly will line up alongside Coldplay on their only live European date of the summer.

They will take to the stage on the final night of the three-day sold-out event.

The line-up includes Friday, June 9: The Prodigy, Placebo, Goldfrapp, The Rakes and Morning Runner.

Saturday, June 10: Foo Fighters, Primal Scream, Editors, Dirty Pretty Things, The Kooks, The Proclaimers, The Upper Room, Suzanne Vega, 747's and The On Offs.

Sunday, June 11: Coldplay, Richard Ashcroft, Lou Reed, Maximo Park, Kubb, Procol Harum, Delays, CatHead, Skyline Heroes.

The Isle of Wight Festival 2006 will be the fifth festival since its reincarnation in 2002.

Over the past few years David Bowie, REM, Faithless, The Who, Supergrass, Razorlight, Travis and The Magic Numbers, among many others, have taken to the stage in what has fast become one of the hottest festivals in the UK.

The Isle of Wight Festivals at the end of the 1960s were a series of legendary events featuring Bob Dylan, The Who, Free, The Doors, Joni Mitchell and Jefferson Airplane, culminating in 1970 with 600,000 hippies descending on the Island to see Jimi Hendrix perform his penultimate concert.

The festival takes place at Seaclose Park in Newport.
