SHE made history 21 years ago after her mum was told she could never have children. Now Hampshire's own miracle baby has not only proved everyone wrong she is all grown up and has just tied the knot. Trudy Lyons, 21, hit the headlines when she was born in April, 1985 as mother Diane had undergone a kidney transplant operation just 11 months earlier. Diane, who was just 23 at the time, had suffered from a kidney problem, leaving her with no option but to undergo the operation. Doctors told her she could never have children because of her defective kidneys but she became pregnant within weeks of the transplant. At the time Trudy was the first baby born so early after such a major operation. She was born in the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, as was her 18-year-old brother Michael. This weekend Trudy married her fiance Paul Longworth at Hampshire's Rose Bowl in West End. The couple, of Hedge End, will spend their honeymoon in Tunisia. Proud mum Diane, 44, also of Hedge End, said: "It was a fantastic day and the weather was lovely. "We had about 100 guests, and 200 for the evening reception. It was very emotional." Diane still has the Daily Echo cutting from 1985 telling her miraculous story. Trudy is a care assistant, and Paul, 24, works in IT.
