This John Godber play was staged at HMS Collingwood, Newgate Lane, Fareham's plushly furnished Collingwood Club which, like the Millennium Hall there, is available for use by local theatre groups.
With a bare stage, disco and strobe lighting and a smoky atmosphere cunningly evoked by a humidifier, this comical vision of 80s nightlife is all about the four actors involved, who play 40 roles between them and whose individual performances and teamwork made the show.
Kevin T Mitchell, Graeme Clements, Robin Sheppard and Garry Cleave delighted the audience with their comic turns and fluid transitions from, for example, intimidating but loopy bouncers to giggling girls on the pull to staggering drunks.
Kevin T Mitchell, who directed, has created a show of theatrical skill and great energy.
