FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze that ruptured a domestic gas supply in Southampton.
The fire started on a building site on Priory Road in St Denys at around 3.19pm yesterday.
Ten firefighters from St Marys tackled the fire which spread to a fence panel before rupturing a gas pipe on a neighbouring property.
Police blocked off the road and a fan was used to disperse the gas before the gas board arrived to switch off the supply.
The gas didn't ignite and no one was hurt during the fire which was deemed safe by 6.30pm.
A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said they were not treating the blaze as suspicious.
