SAINTS steward Paula Poolton was planning to move in with the man accused of her murder, a court heard.
The 40-year-old had told friends that she was hoping to move in with Roger Kearney with whom she had started a relationship three months before her death in October 2008.
Kearney, 57, who was also a steward at Southampton Football Club, denies murdering Paula who was found stabbed to death in the boot of her car in Duncan Road, Park Gate, In his opening speech, prosecutor Nicholas Haggan QC, told the jury that Kearney of Painswick Close, Park Gate, killed Paula Poolton the night she went missing at the scene where her body was found, just yards from Swanwick railway station.
The prosecution say Kearney lied about his movements that night, on October 17 2008. Mr Haggan said: "These lies were specifically designed to fabricate an alibi at the time of the murder."
