A DRIVER who witnessed a road smash in a Hampshire town has been told to make himself known to police.

Officers want to hear from the motorist who saw a motorcycle and van collide at the junction of Ibbotson Way and Rushington Lane in Totton.

He is said to have climbed out of his red car and checked to see if the motorbike rider was hurt. He left the scene before police arrived.

The 18-year-old bike rider suffered a leg injury and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

PC Dave Dyer said: “The driver wasn’t at fault but may have information which would help with this investigation.”
