A MAN injured after falling from a third-storey window was fighting for his life in hospital last night.

Jason Green sustained serious head and spinal injuries after plunging 30ft from a flat in the centre of Fordingbridge on Saturday. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene at the junction of Bridge Street and High Street following a 999 call made at about 9.30pm.

Mr Green, 28, of Green Lane, Fordingbridge, was taken to Southampton General Hospital as police launched an investigation. Last night he was said to be in a “critical but stable” condition in the hospital’s neurological unit.

The incident is believed to have taken place after a small group of friends met in the flat but police are still trying to establish exactly what happened.

A 26-year-old Fordingbridge man arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm had been bailed until December 1, pending further inquiries.
