A GRIEVING wife has today paid tribute to a Hampshire motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with a tractor.

Jackie McIndoe described her husband Jimi as “one of a kind” with a “cheeky smile that lit up a room”.

The 37-year-old, of Ludlow Road in Bitterne, died of multiple serious injuries after colliding with a John Deere tractor and trailer on Bubb Lane in West End on Sunday.

A dad to three children and two step-children, Mr McIndoe has been described as a “loving husband and devoted father”.

His devastated wife Jackie said this morning: “Jimi was one of a kind. He had the most gorgeous, infectious, cheeky smile that lit up the room.

“He would do anything for anyone and nothing was too much trouble.

“Jim lived life to the full - he loved motorbikes and riding was his passion.

“He also loved football and supported Manchester United with his dad Colin since he was a young lad.

“Jimi was a spirit who loved life, his family and all his friends. He will be sadly missed by all of us. This world will be an empty place without our darling Jimi.”

Police investigating the smash, opposite the Blue Cross animal centre, have arrested the 32-year-old tractor driver, from Upham, and a 57-year-old man from Eastleigh - both on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. They were unhurt and have been bailed until January 19.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned at Central Hampshire Coroner's Office.

Anyone who saw either the Yamaha bike or the John Deere tractor prior to the crash is asked to call PC Zonia Thompson on 101, quoting Operation Melton, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
