IF A SNOOKER team marched on its stomach, Hedge End Club B would be vying for Super League honours.

Sandwich lady Rona Paget has prepared the food for homes games for eight years.

Around lunchtime on match days, Rona boils the eggs and leaves them to soak. Then she grates the cheese and cooks the sausages.

“I do it throughout the day,” said the 70-year-old.

“I’ve been managing to get some ham which I didn’t do for quite a long while because that’s quite expensive. If I ever see it on offer in Morrisons, then I’ll get it.

“(Son) Michael loves corned beef and pickles.

“They like the bread with the bits of cheese in. And rings of raw onion. Some people like salad in their rolls and some don’t.

“Tony Bedford is allergic to tomatoes so I put them on the side.”
