STAFF at a Southampton hotel gave up free time to host a party for disabled children.

One dressed as cartoon hound Scooby Doo to welcome the children from the Rose Road Association to the tea party at the Express Holiday Inn at Redbridge.

General manager Joanne Landon said: "Every year we like to hold a local event. Last year it was a VE Day party. This year we decided to invite the children from the Rose Road Association to come along and have some fun.

"We've made hot dogs, sandwiches and cakes. We decked the lounge with balloons and played pass the parcel."

The Rose Road Association, based in Lordswood, provides many essential services to disabled children and their families.
