DETECTIVES today renewed their appeal for help to find a missing man – six weeks after he disappeared.

Nobody has seen or heard from Jason Verge since October 20 when he vanished without a trace.

He has not withdrawn any money, made contact with his worried family or friends or been seen by anyone despite appeals to find him, including a tearful plea from his mum Janet.

Now, as the county’s major crime department continues the hunt to find the 23-year-old, officers have made a fresh appeal to the public for help.

Detective Inspector Dave Dilly said: “Six weeks have now passed since anyone heard anything from Jason Verge.

It’s a deepening mystery as there have been no sightings of him.

“If Jason is out there and reading this appeal, I would urge him to make contact with his parents. He needs to know that there is money in his bank account to enable him to buy essential items and look after himself.”

Saints fan Jason suffers from a condition called myotonic dystrophy that causes his muscles to seize and is not able to walk long distances.

On October 20 Jason withdrew money from his account and visited his parents in Woolston before leaving to meet his brother in the city centre.

Jason can then be seen walking from his brother’s home in Bellevue Road, Southampton, along London Road and through the High Street where he met a blonde woman and stopped to talk outside West Quay shopping centre.

Police have also appealed to that woman to come forward, but so far nobody has identified her.

He then walked to the city’s Jobcentre near Holy Rood Church, but has not been seen since he left.
