A HAMPSHIRE travel firm has collapsed leaving scores of holidaymakers facing a nervous wait.

Twenty jobs were lost when Davis World Travel closed its four branches and head office yesterday after 53 years of trading.

It was unclear last night how many of its customers are currently abroad. They were being advised to contact their airline to check their tickets home are still valid.

Many others will have booked trips over Christmas and the new year with the independent firm, which specialised in package holidays, city breaks and cruises.

Directors have called in administrators Begbies Traynor to help put the company into liquidation.
