WE’VE all heard of White Van Man. Now meet the Spray Tan Van.

Office workers in Hampshire have been getting a bronzed glow despite the cold weather thanks to Britain’s first mobile tanning studio.

Beautician Sarah Keenan, 33, spent £18,000 buying and converting a van to launch her roving tanning business.

She travels around business parks and industrial estates offering the 15- minute spray tan to workers on their lunchbreaks.

The specially adapted Iveco Daily van contains a reception with sofa, magazines and radio and an isolated spraying cubicle where clients can be tanned in private. Heaters ensure customers do not get cold while stripping down.

Sarah, a mum-of-two, offers a choice of three tanning colours for pale to dark skin and promises “no orange”. Her spray tans cost between £18 and £25.

Sarah, from Eastleigh, said: “This is perfect for people who want to have a tan this winter but have struggled to find any sun in the snowy weather. It is much more convenient than having to drive into town and battle with other motorists for a parking space or worrying about getting to the salon after work.

“People look so much healthier with a tan and want to look their best at Christmas, so I’m doing a roaring trade.”

Sarah added: “I have never wanted my own salon because you are then faced with business rates.

“With the van I only have general running costs.

Sarah also takes bookings for private “tanning parties” and tans women before special occasions such as weddings.
