FLIGHTS are getting back to normal at Southampton Airport after the problems created by yesterday's fog.
A spokeswoman confirmed that flights in and out of the airport had resumed in the early evening yesterday, but they were still trying to catch up from the knock effect of the earlier delays and cancellations.
No flights had taken off at the airport since 6.30am yesterday morning causing 43 cancelled departing flights and 39 cancelled arrivals, and six services to be diverted to other airports.
Some passengers had to be transferred to other airports or had their flights rescheduled.
A spokeswoman for Southampton Airport said: “We have flights coming in and out so operations are pretty much back to normal.
“We do have some knock on delays from yesterday with some aircraft not in the right place.
“Some aircraft were not back here last night therefore they had to be flown in this morning which caused a few delays first thing but we're catching up.”
