A WOMAN has been killed and a man is fighting for his life in hospital after a car and lorry collided on a Hampshire road this afternoon.

The female car passenger died at the scene following the collision with the articulated lorry, which happened at the junction between Winchester Road and Hutwood Road near Chilworth.

An air ambulance helicopter was called to the scene shortly after 2.30pm today and the male car driver was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries.

Police have closed the road between Chilworth roundabout and the Asda roundabout and have warned motorists to expect severe delays.
