A WOMAN has been rescued from the River Test after jumping off a bridge.
The woman leapt at around 11.45am and was left clinging to the bank of the river between the arches of the modern bridge.
The coastguard's helicopter hovered above the bridge while emergency services co-ordinated a rescue attempt.
An RNLI rib has now reached the woman, who is thought to be in her late 30s, and she was taken back to shore and put into an ambulance.
Traffic is continuing to cross the flyover but there are long tailbacks in either direction, as one lane is closed.
