A TEENAGER was thrown from his bicycle after yobs launched an object at his head.

The 15-year-old felt a heavy blow to the back of his head as he cycled along a track close to Carlyle Road in Gosport.

He lost a set of earphones and a bicycle pump, which may have been stolen by the three offenders, who fled the scene after the assault.

PC Martin Crutchley said: “I would appeal to anyone who was around that area of the cycle track at that time to get in touch. This is a nasty unprovoked attack on a young man for no motive or reason. I would stress this is a rare incident for Gosport but equally that we would like to bring these offenders to justice.”

Anyone who witnessed the assault, on Monday at 7.30pm, should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
