AN out-of-town homeware retailer is opening a new store in Fareham creating more than 100 jobs.

Dunelm Mill is opening a 33,100 sq ft air-conditioned store in Southampton Road that will be open seven days a week.

The store has been designed to accommodate Dunelm Mill’s ‘value for money’ range of 20,000 homeware items, from household names to the firm’s own collection.

It will sell more than 130 unique bed linen designs, more than 350 lighting products, 400 different wall art and mirror designs, more than 380 cushions, 186 readymade curtains, more than 80 rug designs and in excess of 600 fabrics.

The store will also provide a two-week service for custom-made curtains, and feature a cook shop and dining area, with free parking.

The opening will take the number of Dunelm Mill stores in the UK to 112 and will create more than 100 jobs.

The family firm, whose deputy chairman is the founder’s son, began trading on Leicestershire’s markets in the 70s.

The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Trevor Cartwright will open the store next Thursday.
