A MUM-of-two who is battling breast cancer has raised more than £1,000 for charity – by having her hair shaved off.

Michelle Kieser, 46, was determined to do something to help other sufferers.

She was diagnosed with the disease back in February and had a mastectomy the following month.

Michelle, who has just begun six months of intensive chemotherapy, was supported by her husband David, mum Anne Smith and colleagues at the Tesco store in Bursledon, where she has worked in stock control for the past 22 years.

Michelle’s efforts have raised £400 for the Alzheimer’s Society, Tesco’s charity of the year, and more than £800 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

She said: “I didn’t want to wake up and find it on the bed. It would devastate me more finding my hair on the pillow.

“I thought I’d do it for charity because at least someone’s being helped out of it.

“It’s just hair, it’s going to grow back – don’t they say bald is beautiful?”
