Police file on speeding points claim by MP Huhne passed to CPS
POLICE have today completed their investigations into an alleged speeding offence by Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne.
Essex Police have passed a file to prosecutors, who will decide whether to proceed with the case.
The Liberal Democrat has been accused of allowing his wife to take speeding points on his behalf to avoid a driving ban.
A statement from Essex Police said: "Essex Police can confirm that a file has been passed to the CPS today in relation to a speeding offence alleged to have been committed in 2003."
