THE inquest into a Southampton woman who was stabbed to death by her husband will go ahead tomorrow.
Maria Lakatos was knifed nine times by her husband Sandor in July last year at their home in Harcourt Road, Bitterne.
The 37-year-old’s husband was cleared by a jury of her murder but found guilty of manslaughter due to diminished responsibility and jailed for six-and-a-half years.
During the 15-day trial, Winchester Crown Crown heard how he “massacred”
Maria after she taunted him about her affairs with other men, and left her dying with the knife sticking out of her chest.
He phoned 999, then drove to Milford on Sea and waded into the sea to try to drown himself but returned to be arrested.
The couple, both trained pharmacists, had been married for ten years.
But their relationship got into trouble after they moved to England from Hungary in 2009.
The inquest will take place at Southampton Coroner’s Court.
