Fiona Jordan cruised to victory in the Miss Southampton Boat Show competition.

Her boating knowledge, cocktail making skills and sea legs also helped her to clinch the coveted tiara.

Five gorgeous girls battled it out in an afternoon of activities for the final of the Boat Show pageant on Saturday.

Judges were dazzled by 24-year-old Fiona who will now become the official Boat Show Ambassador for the coming year.

The passenger cruise assistant, who works at Southampton Docks, also won VIP tickets to the London Boat Show and a weekend for two sailing experience.

Fiona, who has lived in Southampton all her life, said: "I am really shocked to win, especially considering I was ill last night and I wasn't sure whether to come."

The former pupil of Cantell School in Bassett and Tauntons College describes herself as "an outgoing, bubbly, smiley girl".

Fiona, of Beaulieu Close, Lordswood, added: "I am really happy and it is the first thing that I have won ever. I have never been sailing before so I am really looking forward to having a go."
