ABOUT 40 firefighters battled a huge roof fire which started in a large detached house in Stockbridge early yesterday.
Crews from Winchester, Eastleigh, Andover, Stockbridge and Sutton Scotney were called at 12.50am to the fire in Old London Road. It took them more than two hours to bring it under control. No-one was trapped or injured.
The cause is under investigation but thought to be an electrical fault.
