TV star Sarah-Jane Honeywell was one of the special guests when a Hampshire children's hospice threw open its doors.
She was at Naomi House Children's Hospice in Sutton Scotney to demonstrate arts and crafts skills which are familiar to millions of viewers and their parents.
She also helped youngsters build a butterfly. The butterflies, which will be dotted around the building, are also part of a fundraising event to support the work of the hospice.
It needs £2.5m a year to keep running and relies on the public's goodwill.
Naomi House opens its doors every September to give people a peek behind the scenes and find out how it helps about 200 terminally ill youngsters and their families every year. Visitors were able to see the hydrotherapy suite, multi-sensory room and play areas, which all help to enhance short lives by enabling youngsters to take part in activities not accessible to them elsewhere.
