A MAN has today appeared in court charged in connection with a shooting in Southampton.
Calvin Angelo Lawrence faces charges of jointly with others unknown causing grievous bodily harm to Suraj Singh Bhakar with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm and being in possession of a firearm with intent to cause a person to believe that unlawful violence would be used against him or another, both on February 19.
Lawrence, 25, of Hansler Road, East Dulwich, London, wearing a plain black t-shirt, spoke only to confirm his details and that he understood the charges against him at Southampton Magistrates' Court.
He was not required to enter a plea at today's hearing.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on April 23.
This follows a shooting last Sunday in which a man was shot twice in the legs in Vanguard Road, Townhill Park.
An 18-year-old Southampton man has been released on police bail and four other suspects, including a 15-year-old boy, have also been bailed.
