TO tens of thousands of Saints fans he is one of the greatest names to have graced The Dell.
But for years no one had been certain where legendary striker Ron Davies had gone.
Today the Daily Echo can reveal that Ron, now 64, has been tracked down to his home in a trailer park in the United States.
Life has not been kind to the man once described by Manchester United manager Sir Matt Busby as the best striker in Europe.
Years of hard work have taken their toll and, according to his family, Ron needs medical help.
Now Saints fans here in Britain are set to rally to Ron's aid.
Last night fans groups pledged to do all they can to help the man who gave them so much entertainment.
They hope to stage a testimonial dinner and bring Ron and his wife over to Southampton.
