A HAMPSHIRE MP has won further progress in her campaign to fully regulate “shocking” late night adult TV channels that can be watched by kids.
Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage, pictured below, is concerned at evidence that Dutch channels broadcasting adult material on Freeview are contravening UK regulations.
UK regulator Ofcom has now submitted a complaint to their Dutch equivalent over the content of adult channels Babestation and Smile TV.
They are licensed in the Netherlands and can defy UK regulation, but still broadcast to millions in the UK including children.
Mrs Dinenage said: “The shocking images we’re talking about are being broadcast on terrestrial TV – available free to everyone, including children and teenagers.
“I know that a lot of parents would be outraged to find that this sort of content can be accessed, without being requested, on their children’s TV sets.”
