PUPILS were treated to a visit from a top sportsman as they prepare for a summer of Olympic fun.

Hampshire’s Paralympic wheelchair rugby star, Aaron Phipps, dropped in at Shakespeare Junior School in Eastleigh to share some of his experiences.

Aaron, pictured with pupils, was the first of a number of guests who are set to visit the school over the coming months ahead of a special Olympics Week in July.

Teacher Vicky Fosbraey said: “Aaron has inspired all of us, especially the children; he’s shown that no matter what happens, with perseverance you can achieve anything.

“We’ll all be glued to the wheelchair rugby in the summer now, and cheering on Aaron of course!”
