BALLOONS, cakes and candles were were all in evidence for Maud Henderson's 104th birthday in Fareham.
The great-grandmother, who lives in the Hawthorn Court Nursing Home in Sarisbury, was surrounded by friends and family as she celebrated her special day.
Visiting from Ringwood, Maud's son, Alan Henderson, said she had enjoyed the day.
"Everyone's had a great time," he added. "We were all impressed when she reached 100, but you never know what is going to happen and it's a fantastic achievement."
Maud was born in County Durham and worked as a fever nurse at a hospital during the war and worked in a draper's shop.
She moved to Fareham in 1983 and has one son, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Centre care assistant Kerry Jackson said: "Maud is the oldest resident we have had in Hawthorne Court and we just had to throw her a little something to celebrate the day."
