WHEN Dawn Veal strides out on her 13-mile challenge her family will be firmly on her mind.
Because the 43-year-old from North Baddesley will be fulfilling a promise made to her late mother and at the same time helping her daughter.
Dawn, from Fulford Road, and daughter Chloe Wright have organised the Footsteps Walk from North Baddesley to Southampton in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and eating disorders charity Beat.
Dawn lost her mother Janice Prowting to cancer last January and her daughter Nichola Wright, 17, has battled with anorexia for four years.
The Footsteps Walk starts at the Baddesley Arms, in North Baddesley, at midday on Saturday, finishing at Dock Gate 4 in Southampton.
Fundraisers have also been given a signed Saints shirt which will be auctioned.
To sign up for the walk call Dawn on 07980 145400.
