A woman had to be rescued by the Coastguard today after she got stuck in the mud while taking her dog for a walk.
At 9.30am, Solent Coastguard was alerted to the woman who got into trouble close to Nash Farm Holiday Park at Barton On Sea.
Specialist mud extraction teams were sent from Lymington and Southbourne who managed to bring the woman safely ashore with the assistance of the RNLI inshore lifeboat from Mudeford.
The dog, which had not become stuck, was also brought to safety.
Mike O'Sullivan, Solent Coastguard watch manager said: ''If you become stuck in mud, try to spread your weight as much as possible.
''If you have a mobile phone, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
''Avoid moving and stay as calm as you can. You should also discourage others from attempting to rescue you because without the proper equipment they could become stuck too.''
