A RECRUITMENT drive will be under way in Southampton tomorrow in a bid to get more fundraisers to take up a power walking challenge.
The Celebrity SunWalk 2010 is being held in the city on April 24 and places are still available. Organised by Walk the Walk – the charity behind the Moonwalk in London and sponsored by Celebrity Cruises – the event is set to grip Southampton as walkers take to the streets to raise cash for breast cancer charities.
To kick start the celebrations and help recruit more walkers, volunteers and supporters, the Walk the Walk team will be coming to the city tomorrow to sign up men and women of all ages and abilities to the walk.
They will meet in Mall Marlands shopping centre before conducting a procession around the streets of Southampton spreading some fun around the city with drummers and fancy dress.
The Celebrity SunWalk will start and finish at Mayflower Park and will take walkers on a 5km or 10km route around the city.
The park will then form the backdrop for the official naming ceremony for Celebrity Cruises’ latest ship, Celebrity Eclipse.
