TWO friends brought together by breast cancer make up part of a team aiming to walk 26 miles in their bras - and raise thousands of pounds to try to beat the disease.

Amanda Galloway, Jenni Jones and seven members of their family and friends are hard in training for the Playtex Moonwalk 2005 in London next month.

The pair's paths crossed when both were diagnosed with breast cancer in their 30s. Now they want to help others by taking part in the challenging night-time hike around the capital.

Mother-of-three Amanda, from Waltham Chase, said: "I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the help I got. I had a very aggressive cancer.

"I'm just very grateful and so passionate about the charities and wanted to do something to help. It's going to be quite an emotional evening."

Some 15,000 women and 1,000 men are expected to take part in the walk around the streets of London on June 18. The event raises millions each year for breast cancer charities.
