TWO men armed with pieces of wood robbed more than £4,000 of cigarettes from a Southampton off-license – police have reported.

And now officers have released CCTV in the hunt for the pair.

Police say the duo entered Casks and Corks on St James Street, Shirley, at around 9.20pm on Sunday, November 26.

Carrying pieces of wood, the two men threatened a 22-year-old staff member and robbed the store of £4,000 worth of cigarettes in a cardboard box.

They also stole £600 in cash from the till and a number of bottles of alcohol.

The duo then left through the front door of the shop, without harming the member of staff.

Police have described one of the men as white, 5ft9ins tall and aged in his late thirties.

He was also said to be of medium build and wearing black trousers, a blue or grey jacket, a blue top with the hood up and a black hat and gloves.

He had his head shaved at the back and sides under his cap and had a dark brown beard and moustache.

He was wearing a black baseball cap, a black zip-up top with white stripes running down each sleeve, grey tracksuit trousers with white writing down the leg as far as the knee, and grey shoes.
