MONEY has been stolen in a cash-in-transit robbery in Southampton.

At around 11.22am on Wednesday, two men on a motorbike approached a Loomis security guard from behind in Angel Crescent, Bitterne.

The security guard was walking back to his van at the time after leaving Corals.

The passenger is then said to have got off the motorbike and grabbed the cash box whilst threatening the security guard with a knife.

They then made off on the motorbike with the cash box.

Now police have launched an appeal for any witnesses to the incident to come forward to help with their enquiries.

The first man is described as white, aged between 25 to 40, approximately 5ft 8 inches tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a black helmet with red on it, a black puffer or bomber jacket and black trousers.

The second man is described as white, between 25 to 40 years old and of slim build.

He was wearing a black jacket with black trousers and a black, scrambler or off road style helmet without a visor. It also had a yellow section on the front.

The motorbike is said to be a black off road scrambler or dirt bike with off road tyres. It also had a black panel on the front.

A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “Were you in the area at around the time of the incident? Did you see anything suspicious? Do you recognise the descriptions above? Perhaps you were driving in the area and have some dash-cam footage?
