PROPOSALS to build a new block of flats in Shirley have been rejected by city council officials.
The building at 65 Anglesea Road had been earmarked to become a five flat block, consisting of an assortment of three, two and one bedroom spaces.
Developers would have knocked down the current building before replacing it with the new one.
In rejecting the plan, Southampton City Council said the building would be out of character for the area.
