THIS is the moment teenagers were caught on the roof of a city centre business.
A city office worker said he was so “upset” at seeing the youngsters on the roof that he decided to take their pictures in a bid to let parents know they were in danger.
As reported Hampshire police were called to four separate incidences on one day when groups of up to 15 teenagers climbed onto the roofs of city centre shops on April 5.
The photographer, who did not want to be named, said he decided to start photographing events from his top floor office window - and said it’s the second time in three months he has seen children there
He said: “If it was my kids I would kill them. So if the pictures are published and the parents recognise them then that will be 50 per cent of the purpose.
“One of the kids was using a little scooter on the edge of the building as well and the other ones were taking pictures. I was very upset.”
He added that it’s the second time in three months that he’s seen youngsters on top of the buildings on High Street, Southampton
But on phoning police he was told that officers would not be sent out.
Police said they did not send officers as trespassing is not a criminal offence - although they highlighted “the risk of free-running, urban-exploring or ‘parkour.’”
Business owners on the road say they have installed extra security measures to help stop the climbers.
