Echo Letter: Closing the entire forest?
We are writing in response to the changes being made in the New Forest which we did think partly belonged to the people.
First thing my husband read out to me was about the changes at Hatchet Pond.
We just can't believe that they are going to stop people and us being able to sit and watch the swans, ducks, ponies, donkeys and other wildlife there.
They have even stopped the ice cream man being there.

We are both almost 80 years old and do like sitting there from time to time.
He has also just read out to me from our Echo that Hollands Wood, Longbeech and Denny Wood may be closing, well we are only 10 to 15 minutes from the lovely Denny Wood and have used it from when our children were small in tents and a caravan.
We still like going to Denny Wood with our little campervan.
All the times we have used Denny Wood we have never seen anyone causing damage to the environment or wildlife.
It looks as if Forestry England will not be happy until they have closed the entire New Forest to everyone except those that actually live in it.
