VULNERABLE children are set to benefit from a new facility after a Southampton school won a brand new classroom.
Chamberlayne College for the Arts won a national public vote which means it will be the proud owner of the £80,000 timber building.
The school made the final shortlist after making an impassioned plea for a replacement building when it missed out on a promised major rebuilding project when the Government scrapped the Building Schools for the Future programme.
The new classroom on the Tickleford Drive site will replace the school’s Acorn Centre for vulnerable pupils.
Head teacher Ewan Scott is pictured celebrating with pupils.
