A TEENAGE girl was hit on the head during an attack as she walked through Southampton with her younger sister.
The 16-year-old was walking towards Tannersbrook School with her 13-year-old sister, when she was grabbed from behind by a woman as they reached the junction of Auckland Road with Tebourba Way.
The woman is alleged to have hit the girl on the head, before she was pulled away by a younger woman, believed to be her daughter, who was with a toddler in a pushchair.
The teenager was left bruised and shaken.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses, who saw the attack at around 3.15pm on Monday to come forward.
Anyone with information should call PC Collins at Shirley police station on 101.
