HAMBLE Sea Scouts have received a financial boost.
Co-operative members in the local area have given the Scout group a grant of £1,600 to replace their camping equipment.
This came about through The Co-operative’s Community Fund, a pot of money accumulated by member customers who can opt to donate all or part of their annual dividend to good causes in the area.
The money is then distributed by The Co-operative’s local area committees to be given out appropriately, based on principles of social responsibility and caring for others.
Eliot Easterby, from Hamble Sea Scouts, said funding was becoming harder to secure, so the money would make a huge difference to the group.
