HUNGRY diners across Hampshire have been queuing outside a Southampton diner to tackle the city’s biggest burger.
Buzz’s Diner in Southampton High Street created the monster burger that weighs in at nearly 2kg and is served on top of a 1kg serving of chips.
Throughout the weekend people had been queuing outside the diner in Southampton High Street, to get a peek at the behemoth burger, while 16 people have taken on the challenge of eating the 5,000 calorie burger.
But none of the challengers successfully managed to beat the burger, which costs £26.95.
The burger called Buzz’s Big One is 25cm high and nearly 30cm in diameter and comes with a 48-inch beef patty and also has eight slices of bacon, half a pound of cheese, and mushrooms.
Restaurant manager Mark Thurston-Jones said most people taking on the burger have managed to eat either a quarter or half of it, but one man came very close to finishing it.
He added: “There was this man who finished three quarters of it. He went at it like a bull in a china shop, he had finished half of it within 15 minutes but he just ran out of steam.”
