PLANS to enlarge a property in a Hampshire town have been turned down.
New Forest District Council has refused an application relating to a detached bungalow at Orchard Close in Ringwood.
Permission had been sought for a two-storey rear extension and a single-storey extension to the garage.
A report to councillors cited the potential impact on a neighbouring property.
It said: "The proposed development would result in an unacceptable level of harm to the amenities of 23 Orchard Close.
"The proposed extension would project beyond two side windows, one of which serves a main living space within the property.
"As such the proposed extension would result in an unacceptable level of loss of light to this room and create an overbearing form of development."
Ringwood Town Council had urged the district council to reject the application.
