A DEVELOPER has drawn up proposals to build more than 60 homes on grazing land in the New Forest National Park.

Vivid Homes has submitted a planning application to redevelop a 2.7-hectare site off Whartons Lane in Ashurst - one of the biggest villages in the Forest.

The proposed development comprises a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments and two and three-bedroom houses.

The site comprises four fields that are mainly used for grazing horses.

Vivid's application says: "Existing trees are to be retained and protected to reduce the impact of the works. A single tree, in poor condition, is to be removed to facilitate a new access to the site.

"New trees and hedges should also be proposed within the development to further increase the biodiversity of the site."

Describing the design the application says: "Open space abuts all boundaries, allowing for a buffer between the existing residential development to the north, Whartons Lane to the west and woodland to the remainder of the edges.

"A green space in the centre of the site provides a break in residential development.

"The efficient design provides family homes and apartments on the site and still achieves a well considered and attractive environment."

A Public Notice outlining the scheme has been published by the Lymington-based New Forest National Park Authority, which will decide the application.

Here is a round-up of other Public Notices giving details of planning applications, temporary road closures and licensing applications.
