The Japanese community in Ireland has held a day of celebration in Dublin to help promote cultural understanding.

Dance groups, drumming bands and traditional demonstrations were part of the entertainment in the grounds of Farmleigh House in Phoenix Park to mark the Hanami festival day.

Hanami is the traditional Japanese custom of viewing flowers, especially cherry blossom, to mark the arrival of spring.
