SOUTHAMPTON Guildhall was packed with spectators and participants for a two day ballroom dancing festival.
The event, which took place on October 3-4, 1969.
On the first night more than 280 pupils from 18 schools of dancing took part.
They danced to music from Kenny Williams and The Townsmen.
The second day was reserved for the children – 191 couples taking part in the afternoon and a further 168 in the evening.
More than 650 people swarmed through the doors to watch.
