HULL boss Phil Parkinson was today making his second visit to St Mary's in four days.

The former Dell trainee was an interested onlooker when Saints defeated Wolves on Wednesday. This afternoon he was attempting to mastermind a shock result for his lowly side in the Championship encounter.

And his team selection - he should field a 4-5-1 formation - will attempt to take advantage of what he perceives to be a weakness in George Burley's side.

"Southampton were a team playing with very little confidence in the first half hour of the game," Parkinson said of the Wolves game.

"They just looked nervous but then one moment of magic from Bradley Wright-Phillips, the confidence came flooding back.

"In any away game you have to start strongly and make the home fans know that it's not going to be all their way.

"I listened to the radio coming away from St Mary's on Wednesday and the fans were saying that because we're down at the bottom that it was going to be an easy three points.

"I want us to make sure that it's a very uncomfortable afternoon for everyone connected with Southampton.

"Technically, they've got some very good players in their midfield. But where their midfield is a strength of theirs, it is also a weakness because they lack any real defenders in there.

"They're decent on the ball and we have to get close to them."
