PETER Waterfield will be reunited with his Olympic silver medal partner Leon Taylor next month.

The Southampton-based Waterfield was second in the last Olympics in Athens in 2004 in the synchro event with Taylor. In 2005 the pair teamed up to win a world championship bronze.

But Taylor thought his career was over earlier this year after surgery on a long-standing shoulder problem.

He had to pull out of the Commonwealth Games in March in Melbourne through injury. But he will dive alongside Waterfield at the British Championships in Manchester next month (Dec 15-17).

"I'm just so excited by the prospect of competing again because the past few months have been the darkest of my career," said Taylor. "There were times I didn't think I'd be able to dive again and that was very difficult to come to terms with."
