Saints loanee Dani Osvaldo's first Serie A goal for Juventus arrived in dramatic fashion at the Stadio Olimpico tonight and rubbed salt into the wounds of his former employers Roma.
The Bianconeri, who were crowned champions last weekend, appeared content to hold Roma at arm's length during a bad-tempered encounter in the capital city.
Roma were determined to get some sort of revenge on Juve but instead watched in horror as Osvaldo - the Italy striker sold to Saints last August and sent to Turin on loan in January - scored four minutes into stoppage time.
The 1-0 win saw Juve pull 14 points clear of the Giallorossi as they reached 99 points in Serie A for the first time.
It was only Osvaldo's third goal for Juventus in 17 league and cup games, and the previous two had been scored against Tranzonspor in the Europa League back in February.
Prior to today, his previous league goal of 2013/14 had been scored for Saints against Manchester City on December 7.
